Hello.
I've received an Oath invitation last Friday (April 22) to attend an Oath ceremony on May 9th.
I'm currently living in my home country with my Canadian spouse and I can't attend the Oath ceremony. I know that some people were allowed to attend the ceremony from outside. Anyone knows how to request Oath from outside?
Thanks!
Congratulations. There is no way to take the Oath outside of Canada. There has been a single report of a persone who has been sick and did it. another member send them a request and they said they will review it and decide and this is only for exceptional circumstances.
So my advice to you is to try your best to come to do the oath even just for a day and you can even fly back if you are in a hurry and make sombody mail you the certificate of citizenship and apply from your country for passport at canadian embassy.
Because if you postpond IRCC can delay you "legally" up to 27 months or even more! as they have recently more than doubles the processing time for citizenship applications
May I ask when did your ( Language , physical presence and prohibitions) categories in the online tracker Marked as COMPLETE?
Hi everyone, I have a random question for those who are waiting for the Oath ceremony after passing the test. When you login to the portal to check the status, at the very top of the page there’s a line that says “Updated: <date>”.
I just went in to check and everything looks the same, but for that field it shows yesterdays date. Does everyone see the current date there? I want to believe that before it would show “November” for me (when I passed the test) but I could be totally wrong… so checking in case my application is somehow moving slowly. Thank you!

Does anyone know what office processes citizenship applications for applicants who live in the territories? Do the territories all use the same office, or does it vary? I looked around some and couldn't find this information.
ghost update on May 3rd (all states are same as last time - everything passed except citizenship ceremony)....it is almost 11 months since i passed my test
One of the Conservatives MP is seeking support to sign on this petition by June 4th for All pending 2019 and 2020 applicants.
Please sign. The Petition will be presented by her in "House of Commons" afterwards.
Finally received the oath letter for May 31. I'm sure things are moving , but not at our expected pace.
exactly 2.5 years since I started the application for citizenship.
I already checked out the passport backlogs, looks like it will be another few months before we can even travel. wishing the best to the rest.

I'm a 2019 applicant, multiple times with resending the package , but was lost in transit during covid times , so I applied back again dec 2020, and so the 2.5 years
