Hi all,
I am CEC inland, posted here before and got your positive reply, but now I saw something today, so I may need your help.
AOR Dec 23, 2019,
Eligibility - Review Required (but there is no bad comment on the GCMS.)
Criminality - In process
Security - Not started
Montreal local immigration office.
Today, my application's current status changed from "Submitted" to "Application/profile updated", but nothing actually changed. After a couple minutes, it changed back to "submitted". Is it a ghost update? I heard that a lot of people got good news after a ghost update, but I still worry about that, because my file is under Review Required. Do you think it should be a good idea to order another GCMS?

People around here that used a representative for your applications... how often do you email or call them(representative/lawyer) for updates on your application?
You do realise that India is one of the hardest hit covid-19 countries, so there should be a clue in that fact as to why the Canada VOs in India are not operating yet(or in a very limited capacity)
True but that logic fails if you think of US. US would have been the last country to be issued with COPr’s or PPR’s. There’s a lot of depth that’s far beyond our reach.
Even I am December outland AINP PR applicant. Eligibility, security and criminality passed in may. Waiting for Final approval.
I think there will be some movement now. Atleast they released something regarding PR applications. As there will be too many applications, they need to open things step by step. First they need to clear people who already go COPR. Later they will consider approving new applications. They have mentioned that new applications will be processed as usual. Maybe there will b some news soon.

VFS offices are physically already open in India. One VFS office caters to visa services related to multiple countries. Physically, there aren't separate VFS offices/buildings for different nations. VFSs for Canada in India are 'closed' means that they aren't providing services related to travel to Canada from India.
Corornavirus or lockdown relaxation has now nothing to do with VFS offices because, physically, they are already open. They will 'open' for Canada i.e start providing services related to Canada when Canadian government orders them.
Why is Canadian government not ordering VFS offices in India (and in many other countries)to start services for Canada?
Answer: Canada currently is
unwilling to let any kind of travellers from India (and in many other countries) enter Canada.
As far as why is it closed....I am also bit perplexed when Canada is allowing US travellers and applicants to enter, which has more probability of spreading the virus ....but for the factors of Capitalism, Bi-lateral trades, Historical inter-dependence, Socio-economic impact, a country behaves differently than the perception built around.
Your point : " Canada currently is unwilling to let any kind of travellers from India (and in many other countries) enter Canada."
This couldn't be farther from truth if only you would have gone through basic news and posts on this forum.
So I talked to an IRCC agent today and was told that my child has to be with me inside Canada for my application to be finalized.
I thought application can be processed once the travel restrictions are lifted but the agent explicitly emphasized that my daughter has to be in Canada regardless of the travel restrictions.
and I am NOT taking her on a flight in this pandemic.
So, I was thinking that removing my child on my application might work? Can I switch her from a accompanying child to non-accompanying and sponsor her later? Does it work like that?
I haven't seen her for about a year and due to the quarantine and everything, I need one and a half month off at least from my work and my manager would lay me off for that. (He has been telling me repeatedly that he needs to shorten the staff) Once I get laid off, my application will be disqualified..

I hope you realize USA is hardest hit, has more fatalities and more active cases than India
In fact, the number of active cases in US is more than the combined active cases of Brazil, India, Russia, South Africa, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Spain, UK, Iran, Pakistan, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Bangladesh, Turkey, Germany, Iraq, Canada, Qatar !!!!
