What is a UCI?
UCI stands for “unique client identifier.” It is also known as a client identification number (client ID). It’s on official documents you get from us. It has either:
- four numbers, a hyphen and four more numbers (Example: 0000-0000) or
- two numbers, a hyphen, four numbers, a hyphen and four more numbers (Example: 00-0000-0000)
If you are applying for the first time, you will not yet have a UCI. If you are filling out a form that asks for one, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided.
If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to type “N/A,” leave the space blank.
If you are applying for the first time, your MyCIC account will show your UCI starting with CAN. This is the temporary UCI, and a permanent one will be allocated once your application is added to the GCMS.
My medicals is scheduled for the 18th of this month, hopefully I would submit my application after the new year celebration....
I have a query. I received ITA on 27th November. My Medical exam is scheduled on 11th Dec. My IELTS result would expire on 1st Feb 2020. I have all my documents ready, just the medical upfront report is required. So I will be able to submit my application on 12th December. When should I expect the AOR? secondly, if my IELTS result expires after receiving AOR, would it impact my application? or should I reapply for IELTS? A quick response is appreciated.

All your documents should be valid on the day you submit your application. The AoR is issued within a few hours or a maximum of 24 house after your submit your application.

Thank you for the response. That means, I do not need to re-apply for IELTS if I submit my application before the results expire?

Thank you so much

No need to do a new IELTS. The IELTS report is valid for 2 years. If you file your application, the date you submit your application, your report has to be valid on that day, i.e. it should be less than 2 years old.
