Hi, are you applying from inside Canada? I passed my medical exam but they didn’t ask me for any biometrics. I’m also CEC applying from inside Canada in Toronto.

Yes, thank you, I decided to just call them instead of worrying The rep said they are currently processing criminality and eligibility checks on my application; he said MEP is delayed sometimes as it is the easiest stage and officers sometimes leave it till later.

yes applying from inside Canada. I'm in Toronto. I got request for biometrics fee on DEC 18th and on DEC 23rd I got two requests BIL and IMM5406. So may be since they needed other stuff, they sent out BIL together with it.

From what I'm reading everyone is getting their BIL near the MEP. does anybody know if this is always the case or could they send it later? or what does the BIL depend on? I had already paid for them. thanks!

There is no correlation. Usually it comes closer to the MEP, but can happen before or after too.
