I had received FP request on Mar 27. Since I was out of Canada,
I had my FP taken today April 21, by an RCMP accredited company at Windsor. The guy who took my FP said that RCMP would send it directly to IRCC. How would I know that it has been sent and received by IRCC - any idea

Rcmp usually sends result the following day to IRCC, RCMP uses regular Canada post mail formate that takes approx 7 days.

I did mine on 26 March , RCMP confirmed that results were sent to IRCC on 27 March, I called IRCC and I was told they were received and updated to my file on 9th April.

Thanks for sharing the info. I did my FP through an accredited company in Windsor and not directly with RCMP.
Is it still reasonable to contact RCMP to get the status now or should I wait for a week / 10 days to contact IRCC?

yes, thy will ask for name and dob to pull your file. Thy r super nice!(usually). good luck!

Good news got an email while ago about my test invite ;
Seems like Edmonton IRCC moving files.

Invite received: April 23, 2018
Test date : May 7th , 2018
