Visa is back in my hubby's hands today! I am so thankful! However, we used DHL and they almost lost his package on the way back home! What a scary thought. They didn't scan the tracking number in Dakar and he spent hours in the DHL office trying to get the package from them (which was there). Anyways, he has it now, only due to his persistence!
Hello fellow Dakar applicants... I figured I would join you here. I'm sponsoring my Mauritanian husband outland. Our timeline is as follows:
March 10: CIC Received application
April 4: Started Processing
April 5: AOR 1
May 19: Began processing applicants file
June 15: Received SA via email following several calls to the office (many of which got no where) as well as a previously request for information from our MP. Requested medical.
The medical was completed this past Thursday and sent to the Dakar office (took a while due to Ramadan). I'm hoping the process from here on out is swift.

Hello my fellow forum mates... we finally received the long awaited PPR email from Dakar. It took us exactly 9 Months from the day application was received in Mississauga to PPR. ( 22 October - 21 July)

I have a concern.....
My wife's medical expires in September and from what I have read she has to travel before it expires. Will it be advisable to buy her flight before visa is issued or wait until the visa is issued?
The other issue is that tickets for closer departure dates are very expensive!

I would wait for the visa before getting the ticket IMO. Make sure you send everything as fast as possible. I got my wife's ticket 3 weeks before the departure date and it wasn't too bad price wise. Also, try different dates since the price can fluctuate considerably even within a day or two.
