My wife has dual Canadian / British citizenship. I'm a British citizen. We both currently live in the UK. Could anyone answer my question as to whether we could successfully apply for sponsorship whilst living in the UK? Would she have to have sufficient funds (if so how much?) in the bank for this to happen or would she have to have a job waiting for her in Canada prior to us moving out there?
you can apply from the Uk and since its a spousal application, you don't need a certain amount of funds. Join us on the London outland . thread. All the information is there under the signature of andrew_Brit ..
We are in much of the same boat. My wife is a Canadian and British citizen, we applied for PR via spousal sponsorship outland a year ago.
As your partner is a citizen both of you can be outside of Canada during the whole application process, but you should include proof that your sponsor plans to return to Canada once PR is granted. Proof includes any lease/mortgage agreements for Canadian property, any job offers, basically anything that shows that you will reside in Canada. Your partner does not need a job lined up but having one would be one piece of evidence that you plan to move there.
