CSQ to Obtain an Open Work Permit in Quebec

Hello guys,
I am currently an international student here, just recently got my Quebec CSQ thru Skilled Worker Program in March and filed immediately my PR application in Federal two days ago.

Now, I want to change my status from student visa to open work permit while waiting for my PR. I called the CIC and their advise was- I can use my CSQ, and get an employer in Quebec. Together with my CSQ, I also need to submit employment contract from an employer based in Quebec to obtain an open work permit.

Any thoughts of this guys? I really appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

You misunderstood it. I have also an existing Quebec Skilled Worker application before becoming a student. Then I got my CSQ and filed Permanent Residency application afterwards. I already ditched my student status since I already have a file for PR. Student visas will just give you Post Study Work permit, our program is better!

Its not a problem I already have a work permit and I can wait instead of no application at all! You are a PR holder then why are you suggesting a Post Study Work Permit? You dont even know how a CSQ works too!

CSQ has many programs, after you study in Quebec you apply for CSQ and work permit for remain in Canada while you get finished all the paper work
apply PR with CSQ and no french answer,,,

we dont need to study and have French too on our program. You can read about Quebec selected Skilled Program. I guess you are weird because you just know about student permit and getting a CSQ with French.

Btw, Im already in Canada thru student visa since August 25, 2017. Application becomes fast when I am here. How about your timeline pls

4 years for the CSQ, oh my god
I arrived as student in may, 2014 (Quebec), I applied for PEQ-Student, I got the CSQ in less than 45 days Jul 2016, I landed Sep 2017
now you have to wait 17 month for federal evaluation

So? Im already in Canada, and already have a PR application. Do you need to compare? Atleast I cut my expenses enrolling in a school with the CSQ. You paid as a student, out program is for Skilled workers so why are you comparing then?

I already told you my program right? Its Quebec selected skilled workers. If we have enough points without the French then we can get the CSQ. I thought that you know a lot, why dont you google? Hahaha! montreal is bilingual I guess you are the one that is not in Quebec and I guess you are still applying for PR. You are not sharing info because you are not even aware of Quebec and CSQ gosh!
