Hi all, I have a quick question. I'm filling out form IMM 0008 (general application form for Canada) and it's asking me if I have a CSQ (which I don't) and if not, when I applied for it. This is the first time I've heard of needing a CSQ as a part of the spouse sponsorship. Is this something I need to also apply for? We're applying in Quebec. Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much, can I ask what SA means? I did some research (after I asked the question, of course), and I'm under the impression that I shouldn't apply for the CSQ until after I've been approved federally, correct?

Ya I sent mine end of February and still waiting. From what I have seen, is current taking 2-3 months. Just today, someone who sent the csq application end of January received his. So I can expect mine in about 15-30 days.
I recommand that you begin to fill up the form for CSQ and get the documents to joint with the request right now. Your spouse need to sign the form and you need to joint a colored photocopy of the passport of your spouse. If she send the signed form by the post, it can take weeks to get it. You should fill up the engagement form too. Don't wait the e-mail from CIC to begin to fill it up.
You mean January 28? or actually February 28 because if that's the case, it took them quite a while to charge the CC. Which means they didn't even touch your file until that date.
I took a look on my recipe and i saw that I send the request by Canada Post february 20, i was thinking that i send it in january but it was a mystake. They charge the credit card on february 28. I received the CSQ and the engagement paper on march 30.
So the process look pretty fast. Sorry for the mystake, we send to much paper at different dates...
