criminal record check from korea for an illegal immigrant

Has anyone dealt with obtaining a criminal record check from Korea for a person that lived there illegally? Is there a way to prove a lack of a criminal record when there is little record of the person being there?

Can a non-Korean spouse go to Korea and obtain records directly from the police station?

I'm desperately in need of assistance. A criminal record check from Korea is the only document needed for my spouse's permanent resident visa to be issued.

I hope someone can help me.

Well im not sure if the Korean police record search app asks you where you lived when you were in Korea and all they do is search the name and fingerprints if required to see if a person with all your information has commited a crime,im pretty sure thy dont check to see if you were there legally.
So i would down load the app and send it in to Korea.

My spouse needs this background check as the last document needed for his permanent residence to be issued. I hope this works.
