You must make every effort to get it re-activated within a month of you sending the application as CIC can try to charge the fees then. Also inform the bank that they should expect the fees from CIC.
It will be classified as Incomplete.
The only way they can link a file with a new document is through the file number (I'm sure if they take an effort, they can use Name, UCI, etc, but why bother). But they only issue a file number if your application is complete.
I was in the same boat last year. There is nothing that you can do other than waiting. CIC will return your application without issuing AOR. This may take 1-2 months (depending on the current processing times).
In the meantime, make sure that you get a new credit card. Alternatively, try to use draft if possible (I used it to not risk another credit card block scenario). Also, download all new forms and fill them again. Make sure you have all of the other documents handy ( I had to get another PCC). As soon as you get your application back, you can send a new one. You do, however, have the option to submit the same forms (as long as they haven't been updated on CIC website).
This is my opinion and how I did my application. You should always verify updated information from the CIC website.
I was in the same boat last year - I emailed CIC regarding sending te new form bt they said that they wnt accept it an appl wil be returne back. My 2 cents will be to prepare the appl package again n send it to CIC again as te previous package will b returned fr aure - why to wait for 2 months fr appl to be returned - pls use bank draft trust me that's the safest way
I enquired CIC about change in payment .They replied to send new form and mentioned they wont gurantee that this will be processed or not.I sent my intial application on Aug 11 and updated payment yesterday. Will this work?
