Yesterday I received my confirmation of permanent residency and I have to go to the nearest border to get my PR or book an appointment with CIC office.
I wonder which one is easier to do since I'm not sure if they'll let me go through US border without US visa.
Anyone with similar experience in Vancouver?

You don't need US Visa, as you will be directed to Canadian Border upon telling US Border that you are there only for PR landing purposes. They will issue you "Refusal Paper" for administration purposes showing that you have exited Canada. It won't affect future visa applications for the US.
Toby shared his landing experience here:

thanks, that's really helpful!
