I have a question regarding to the Request for Passport step.
I am not a U.S. Citizen nor a U.S. Permanent Resident, but I have been studying and working in the U.S. for a few years and therefore CIC assigned my case in Ottawa. I am now following the same step with other U.S. applicants in this thread as well as that May Outlander thread.
I still have a Canada Tourist Visa (TRV) which is valid until May 1, 2016. I guess my case would be finalized before that day. I am wondering if I still have a valid TRV on my passport, will CIC request my passport to stamp another one-time Immigrant Visa for "entrance as a landing immigrant"?
I see lots of people who come from visa-exempt countries like U.S. or E.U. countries get their COPRs directly without being asked to mail their passports to CIC for a one-time Immigrant Visa. That means they come in as a "tourist" but "transfer" to be a landing immigrant when they pass the Customs.
Does anyone have the same situation with me? Do I expect to mail the passport for another single-entry immigrant visa?
Anyone know how long 'final stage' takes to complete?
After sending in the passport copy and photos etc., how long before something comes back from Ottawa?
Does the PR card itself come back?
Thanks
App Filed: March 17
In Process since: May 5
In Process shows up in eCAS: August 14
Generic Doc. Request: September 23
Medical Received shows up in eCAS: October 23
Personally I'm holding my breath for the end of the month. Things on my file have seemed to update near the end of the week, so at least that's something to look forward to through this week
We just got Decision Made today! We didn't receive an email of any kind though. We were February 2015 applications and got the generic email mailout around August 26.
What normally happens after DM? Do they send an email or do we just wait for the COPR to come in the mail?
This highlights are as follows:
SPR Eligibility: Passed
Assessments:
Eligibility: Not Started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed
Group#: 2-JGT6E1M
Under "Undertaking Length" it says 36 months. Does anyone know what this means?
One note states "PA admits to living in USA without status as a visitor from ********* to *********, did not appear to work". My husband is a US Citizen, and he resided in Canada without status. Do you guys think I should try to get this corrected?
Also, I appear to have been IP blocked at work, not exactly sure why though. Any ideas/suggestions?
