Could not apply Work Permit at Port of Entry

Hi,

Recently I came to Canada on worker visa now at Fredericton, New Brunswick. I was not aware that I need to apply for a work permit at the port of entry i.e. Toronto. At the Toronto immigration, they just stamped in my passport and let me go. Today I came to know that I should have applied for Work Permit and port of entry.

Literally I am an illegal immigrant in Canada. Kindly guide me what options I have to get the Work permit.

Were you already approved for the closed work permit? Did your employer get an LMIA if not LMIA exempt?
