Hi guys, I've a question you've probably answered 20 times but I can't find it as the thread is very long. I'm outside of Canada, got my COPR under family sponsorship outside of canada last week, via Canadian wife and Canadian kids.
So looking at the travel exemption for reuniting with family. My wife is with me now, if she flies into Canada as a citizen first, my understanding is that I'd be able to get on a plane and go over to be reunited, and activate my COPR on arrival - does that sound right?
Also, I see there are different requirements regarding whether my wife is permamently or temporarily in Canada - meaning whether I need to get pre-authorisation or not. She is returning to Canada to live there permanently (as per our family application), so the way I read it I should be able to take a photocopy of her Canada passport and our marriage certificate and say that she is in Canada (which she would be by then having flown over a few days earlier), then fly over and do my COPR activation.
Is this correct, has anyone done it this way? The thing I can't discover is whether there is a requirement for me to present WITH my sponsor to activate the COPR but I can't see anything that says that.. we will both have gone to canada to live as per our application, just on different flights.
Really appreciate the help, I've reached out to Canada immigration local office but no response yet.
Oh I feel stupid. I did the immigration site question wizard thing where I answered my questions, said I couldn't go in as a COPR. Then saw that I could go to rejoin Canadian citizen. Didn't see where it said exemptions included "
immediate or extended family members of Canadian citizens, persons registered under the Indian Act, or permanent residents of Canada

Ok, my last visitor visa was back in 2015 and I've a new passport since then. But anyway glad to hear that I just fly over with my canadian spouse and kids and no-one will turn me away at the airport, and can process COPR upon arrival. Thank you!

No, haven`t received new COPR. Need to re-do the medical first. VO told in last email, they will issue the re-medical, once there is some ease in current restriction.
Hey ! @13nitinsharma@legalfalcon Lately, How long IRCC is usually taking to respond to emails and Webform. I had sent one attaching my medical reports done earlier, to verify if new medical requested is required or not?...
We contacted IRCC to get updates on our application status this is what they shared
- Criminality: Passed
- Medicals and Biometrics: Passed
No other updates but he shared that our file is at New Delhi Visa Office (NDVO) and asked us to contact there for further details. What does this mean for our file? IRCC customer care exec mentioned he won't be able to give details because the file is at NDVO
We are trying to get in touch with New Delhi Visa Office but no luck! Please share the extension number if any

IRCC cannot provide details of a file that has been transferred to a VO outside Canada. So you will have to send a webform to NDVO or request your GCMS notes to know processing details.
