Hello all,

I had a few questions about the Conjugal Partner Sponsorship route and if my situation qualifies.

I am a Canadian Citizen trying to sponsor my girlfriend whose nationality is South Korean. We are both working in different cities in Korea at the moment.

We have been dating for 3 years and talked to both our parents and got consent for marriage last year on the condition that we both finished studying and got full time jobs.
Up until half a year ago, our parents did not think we were financially prepared because I was still in school until last August and my girlfriend was still studying to get some training and a license.

We can't apply for common law partnership because we are Christian and we believe that we should only live together once we are married.

We will be getting married in Canada in November, but we want to apply for the visa and have it ready so that things don't get complicated at the boarder.

Compared to others this may be a less severe case, but do you think we still apply as conjugal partners?

Thanks so much for your help!

You are not qualified as conjugal partners because you have the ability to get married and face no immigration barriers.

You will only be able to sponsor your girlfriend once you are married since you do not want to live together.

Agreed with the above. You don't meet the basic requirements for conjugal. You will need to wait until you are married before you can apply to sponsor her.
