Confusion in landing first time

Hello guys
my brother got PR by express entry(FSW) and they book ticket for qatar airways which is through doha -Montreal to toronto. Connection time in montreal is 2 hour 20 min. My question is that whether there is any problem for landing in montreal as there landing destination is toronto in COPR. Is it a must to land in Toronto as it will be their first landing.

No problem as he has a through ticket to Toronto although generally should allow 3 hours for a connection when completing a landing at first entry point. Can be less can be more just have to hope immigration not too busy processing new PRs to be able to connect.

Will not only need to pass through passport control but also collect luggage for customs and then drop luggage off at connection desk once landing formalities completed.

Few days ago a friend of mine was going through Toronto immigration .
Flight missed due to less connection as only 2.30 hours weren't enough .

Please make sure to have atleast 4 hours .

Again , it depends on the airport/immigration staff/processing for your case .
