Hello guys,
I got a question about my landing next week.
My destination is Ottawa, but I have a connection in Montreal.
The problem is my connection delay … I only have 1 hour between my 2 flights.
Can I land in Montreal as Visitor and do my PR landing process at Ottawa Airport ? or Go to the US/Canada border the next day to do it ?
Thanks
Firstly an hour connection to even land as a visitor i would suggest is too short for an international to domestic. Once you have cleared immigration/customs and believe rechecked your bags for your ottawa flight you are in domestic territory so believe when you land at ottawa there would not be any opportunity to deal with immigration so my guess would be you would need to go to land border to activate. Other than the connection time plan seems fine to me although you might need to be prepared to explain to CBSA in Montreal that you want to start as visitor given your passport will be in the system. Of course everything i have said could be wrong but others can coment.
We are in the process of our PR. We are going to send our two kids our country for the summer time. My husband and me will stay in Canada . I believe we will receive our PR during the summer. If we make the landing without them, will it be possible for them to enter in Canada with their current visas? I´m worried that it could be complicated for them make the landing by themselves. Once they arrive Canada we will go with them to make the landing on the border. Has anyone done something like this?
