Hello,

My query is a little confusing and difficult to explain, but I will try to explain it as best as I could.

I am 24 years of age. Academically, I have done BCA from IGNOU in Dec 2005 and then completed MCA from IGNOU itself in June 2008. As it is known, both degrees from IGNOU are through distance learning mode. Alongside I did my three years part time course in French language (named as Advance Diploma in French) from Delhi University which went from 2004 to 2007. I have an experience of about 2 years professionally and I have claimed 16 points in IELTS.

I applied for PR in CIC and I got my file number last month. I showed 15 years of (full time) education in the educational qualification category; however now I am getting confused how can I show my 15 years as full time education. My education till XIIth (12 years) was full time but I am too confused how to show +3 years combining my french and graduation and PG qualifications. Some consultant told me to get something in written from university or study centre for the 15 hours of study per week, but i do not see any luck in this method.

Can anyone guide me how can I show my 15 years of full time education considering my academic criteria till now? Can I claim any points for my Grad/PG degree along with French language degree? And how many points could I claim for? I remember I calculated 22 points for 15 years of education with PG degree.

Also one more query! Do I need to go for TEF to compensate my lacking points for eligibility? I have shown that in my application sent to CIC for the points calculation because I was not sure much about my educational qualification points and as I am still not so. I have to appear for TEF in the coming March or April and I am not sure how much could I score in that and how would I require to compensate for my PR application?

I am looking out for affirmative responses in this regard asap. Please guide me in this case based on your experience and your knowledge about PR rules and procedure !

Thanks,
Chanchal

its really confusing
consult all the seniors on this forum
IGNOU i dont know about it ?????????

If your degree is recognized by the relevant authority in your country, then you can get the points.
Your university should show somewhere on their website or course booklet on how long it takes for a full time student to get these degrees. You could show that.
Also you could show how long it takes a full time person to get that particular degree as a full time student at a residential university.

hello chanchalsethi

I'm also confuse on distance learnings course. I did my Master in computer science from Sikkim Manipal University in distance mode. I applied in quebec with my degree and got full points. So I think distance education will get points if it is accredited by UGC. in your french language case. You will not get any points from french language of university course. you should do TEF. Certainly you'll get good score in TEF

Hello Satya and all senior,

Did you show any 15/18 hr per week thing to CHC? You said that they gave you full points for Master degree? Did you just give degree or did you show anything saying that you attended this as regular course?

Please advice/Suggest

Regards
