Dear All,

kindly provide your expert opion on following question.

I submitted my application for canada PR under spouse sponsorship programme in the month of jan 2020.

We got married in the year 2013 in pakistan and as per law marriage certificate was issued from NADRA who is authorised to do so from Govt of Pakistan.

In 2017 I lost my marriage certificate and got a new marriage certificate from NADRA after paying some fees.

Now the thing is that luckily after sometime I found back my old marriage certificate which was attested from ministry of foreign affairs Pakistan, UAE Embassy, and when I applied for PR in 2020 I used the same old marriage certificate.

Recently my file is transferred to VISA office and I am thinking that I should have attached new marriage certificate because NADRA might have deleted record for old marriage certificate because they issued new one which has a issuance date in 2017.

I am in a impression that canadian embassies have internal link from NADRA to verify all documents.

Kindly advise.

You can always send it in with an explanation via Webform. Do they look any different? Either way it doesn't hurt to send it with an explanation.

These changes are intended to streamline marriage registration procedures for foreigners and Chinese citizens by increasing the number of personnel dedicated to these matters as well as the easing of geographic requirements. Under the new system, each municipality will provide staff who are, in theory, trained to handle the special requirements of these types of unions, which differ from standard marriage registration.
