hi, i am pursuing btech in computer science with 71% and ielts 7 band with no less than 6.
i have got amitted to unv of victoria for masters in telecom and internet security and i have also got acceptance from dalhousie internetworking ,and waiting for unv of alb,
and i have also good offer letter from lambton college for 2 yrs diploma in toronto.
I would like to go to unv of victoria but i have heard mixed reviews abt it regarding jobs and expenses living in victoria i am not sure which province to choose and i have heard that masters degree directly qualifies for Pr in Bc ..which unv should i choose thinking abt jobs and iving expensis..or should i go to lambton college in toronto as i would easily get a job in toronto or i should stick with unv and then move to other province from unv of victoria .???
plz i need advice urgently
According to me I think u shud choose MTIS at uvic . I don't know much abt Dalhousie univ but uvic is grt uni and over d top it has one of d best co-ops in Canada.
I wud advice u uvic out of d two options u have(i.e Dalhousie and uvic).
Jasmine you are in canada and does unv studies is really tuff or will I get time for part time jobs as I am taking education loan and how is place victoria?

Nopz dear I am not in Canada, am yet to apply for visa as I am too waiting for sanctioning of my study loan.
But I can tell u things about which I have some knowledge.
My aunt and one of my friends live in Calgary and they told me one thing about Victoria city that it is very expensive as it is a tourist spot.
Rest about univ I think it is nice university and I too applied for it but yet didn't get any response from their side. But I am going for Carleton university as I got more positive reviews about it( from graduates of Carleton university and univ of Victoria , to whom I contacted through mails or this forum).
As I told u I don't know much about Dalhousie univ, but I think uvic is better than Dalhousie . Also it has great co-op program.
Sorry if am confusing u but in a nutshell I want to say, if u have to choose between Dalhousie and Victoria than I thinks shud go for Victoria. Hope this helps u.
P.S- BC has direct PR option for its graduate students.
Ohk it's a never ending confusion I guesss friends are in college in Toronto and I have a option out there but I am not sure abt colleges reputation so I think unv is best
I need to think and research more
HI even i have got admission in this prog if u have any queries regarding this u can join uvic indian student's association....its good to find more indian students in this prog
I completed my btech in cse last year with 74% ,ielts 7.5
I and my frend got prov adm two days back. I knw many seniors there. Just let me know if u meed any kind of help
I just give you only one suggestion that you should always give priority to university instead of any college.and second if you work hard you will get your pr easily in any province. So think wisely and all the very best.
definitely go for university of victoria dear.
M currently in canada and i would suggest you to donot think about work.
complete your degree with good percentile and knowledge then worry about work.
All d students coming over here are doing labour job which is actually very tough and especially for girls so keep that i mind.
alberta is mainly in natural resources jobs like petroleum and gas so getting a techie job will be difficult for a course like telecom u need a city like Toronto as an IT hub
