Confused - extend WP or apply for BOWP?

I am on a closed WP and need to extend it. Do I file for extension if the WP or file for BOWP? Checked Canada.CA but could not find an answer.

I am on an employer specific, closed WP (self employed entrepreneur C11) and had applied for PR, received AoR and biometric is done.

To be eligible for BOWP, you need to an applicant for one of the programs like:

• Permanent residence using Express Entry
• Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
• Quebec skilled workers
• Home Child-Care Provider Pilot or Home Support Worker Pilot
• Caring for children class or caring for people with high medical needs class
• Agri-Food Pilot

Yes, already had applied for PR through EE under CEC in April 2024. But since the PR process can take time, I need to extend my status to work as a temporary resident. (Am on a closed WP, employer specific, self employed entrepreneur under C11. My family is with me).
Having the option of an Open WP will be a lifesaver.

If you have received ITA, applied, then you are eligible to apply for BOWP and OWP for those who are in your application and already in Canada.

But keep in mind that they will start processing your BOWP application only after you pass at a completeness check stage.

I could not find specific information for the path from a closed WP to BOWP. There is information for PGWP but nothing for my specific status. That is why I was unsure how to proceed.
