Confused about one thing while applying online

Look at the latest version of the Document Checklist (04/2023) that must also be uploaded.

It shows, this:

In addition to the above, include the following documents if you are:
Applying for a permanent resident card (PR card):

Your PR card
If you are applying to renew your PR card, provide a copy of your current card. If you are applying to replace your PR card, provide:
● Paper application: Your original physical PR card.

● Online application: A photo of your destroyed PR card.
If you lost your PR card include a copy of a police report or incident number, if applicable.

So, one could deduce that it is an error on IRCC's part to not properly explain this, here:

While it is clear that a person applying to renew their current card is, in fact, applying to `replace' their card...it is clearly different from those that have lost, damaged or had their cards stolen. I suggest, again, to NOT to destroy your current card.
