Confused about 12a in the Schedule 3 Economic Classes FSW Form

Hello All,

I am filling out this form and confused about something in it. I am copying below the exact words of question 12, which has two parts: a and b.

Question 12a:
Identify, from the list below, the primary occupation and the corresponding four digit 2011 NOC code that will be used to assess whether your application meets the minimum program requirements to be eligible for processing. [Then there is a single field for Occupation and a single field for NOC.]

Question 12b:
Starting with your current occupation, list your occupations with the 10 years preceding the date of your application. For each occupation, identify the dates of employment, your occupation, the appropriate four-digit 2011 NOC node, the number of years of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time experience, and a description of your main duties.

In question 12a, it says "from the list below". I don't see any list! What list is being referred to in question 12a? Is it "50 categories" at the CIC website or "the best of my occupations" mentioned in part 12b of this form?

In question 12a, if it is asking me to pick the best one from 12b, then that is a designation. But if it asks to take one from the 50-category list, then that is a category.

So, it is important to understand what to put before putting anything in 12a.

Experts, please help.

let me explain you in simple words
1. make a rough list of all your jobs in past 10 years, you can find the NOC by typing title of job on google.
2. from this list, chose the one on the basis of which you want your work experience to be counted or to get you score.
3. Now write this job in 12a for e.g. mechanical engineer 2132.
4. in 12b write down all the jobs from current date to descending time period of last 10 years.

Hi,

I also have a confusion on filling this 12.a and 12.b..... Actually my experience falls under mechanical engineer.

I have worked as service engineer and i want CIC to consider this as my experience.

Now in 12.B i will put as service engineer (which is same as mechanical engineer). Now in 12 a what i can put? Can i put as service engineer and put the mechanical eng NOC code or just put as mechanical engineer and NOC code. Please advice.

Also difference in job title will it affect my process? But the roles are same as mechanical engineer.

Additional Info, i have done masters in mechanical engineering only. Please advise.

Thanks rimi. Yes, that is what I finally found out. In fact, the instruction guide clearly says that an applicant should list his/her jobs in past 10 years in 12b, and then from 12b pick the best one to put in 12a. Somehow I missed that in the instruction guide.

I have submitted my application today so that it reaches Sydney after April 30.

Dear rimi3008, Please help me as well, i'm about to submit my documents but still thinking of this issue...

My job title is "Intelligent Network Platform Team Leader" in Telecommunication. Shortly, my main responsibility is to be in charge of Prepaid Platform System that is running in our company. But my main concern is that my Job title doesn't match with the ones that listed in NOC 2173 Embarrassed

My main duties are :

-Operation, Maintenance, Configuration and Troubleshooting for IN platform
-To be able to provide and implement in-house development process when required
-Produces written technical and functional documentations
-Documenting infrastructure systems including hardware and software systems
-Analyses and automatizes Business processes to increase efficiency of the company
-Testing and installation of the new patch sets and releases
-Participate in the development of the projects within the department
-Documenting infrastructure systems including hardware and software systems
-Coordination projects related with IN Group and effectively utilize the resources in the team
-Identify Group targets in line with department targets
-Manages and motivates Group Team
-Continuously reviews efficiency of the Group and consequently suggests and/or implements improvement
-Improve all existing internal systems when necessary



So , am i eligible for NOC 2173 ? If yes which Occupation should I indicate in the Document Economic Classes , question number 12 "Your Work Experience", "Intellectual Network Platform Team Leader" or "Software Engineer" ?
