Hello,
Sorry, long case. I am sponsoring my wife for Canadian immigration from Pakistan, but I am having some confusion regarding her Birth certificate.
Her actual Place of Birth (POB) is Nigeria, but she never got a birth certificate. The only proof of her POB is from her mother passport based on entry and exit stamp into nigeria. She grew up in pakistan area. She never got domicile either since that required Birth-certificate too. For her education/job, she always mentioned Place of Birth as Nigeria. But none of these documents from school (degrees/certificates/results) mentions her Place of Birth on the paper itself.
But when she applied for Nadra-NIC (National ID card), because of complications, she registered her POB as in Pakistan. She then applied for Passport, which reflects the info as on Nadra database.
Now we need 'Birth Certificate' for Canadian immigration. Should we get one that mentions POB as 'pakistan' and assume that there will be no conflicts in the future. Or we should get birth certificate with POB as 'Nigeria', then get the POB changed on Nadra NIC and Passport.
If we opt for nigeria as POB, What is the fatest way to get Birth Certificate ? I am told that we have to apply via Foreign affairs of Pakistan, they will take her mothers passport and send it to Pakistan Embassy in Nigeria, then they will make a birth certificate and send it back. This procedure might take 2-4 weeks ? Do you guys know of any other alternative ?
Your feedbacks are much appreciated.
Many Thanks
