Concerned about PR

I have been together with a Malaysian citizen (non Muslim, she is Indian). For 1 year and a few months. We met over facebook in 2017 and really hit it off, started dating in 2018, I have visited her twice so far and we had a beautiful wedding ceremony in a Hindu Temple in Dec 2018.
It wasn't the usual 3 day long event as this is her second marriage and her parents thought it would be unnecessary and embarrassing to do a grand wedding all over again. I was in Malaysia for 5 weeks.

She was supposed to come back to Canada with me, for a two week stay. Her visa was denied. They believe she would overstay the visa. This derailed our plans to be legally married in Canada and have a honeymoon. My parents are upset they didn't get to witness the wedding, or meet her.

I am going back to Malaysia next week to sign the papers to be legally married to her.

We had a very simple Hindu wedding ceremony, with a reception, her family and friends were there. Mine unfortunately were not.
Honeymoon was derailed, and I lost over $1,000 on her plane ticket. She still cannot seem to get a visa to visit me.

Will I have enough evidence to support that this marriage is legit? Or is the government going to continue to give us a hard time?
I just want my wife to be with me here in Canada, we would have so much more opportunities here than in Malaysia.

The marriage is legit. That's not why she was denied a visa - she was denied because IRCC believed (rightly so, obviously), that she would overstay on her tourist visa. They aren't going to give her a visa unless she can prove she will leave Canada. The chances of that are not high.

You need to apply for Outland Spousal sponsorship and go through the 8-12 month process to make her a PR.

I'm assuming that you are a Canadian citizen or a PR.

It is their right but it was upsetting, l had a lot of things planned during her two week stay. Of course she provided proof of assets in Malaysia and joint custody agreement with her ex husband over their daughter. They still wouldn't budge on their decision.

That's all well and good, but you're doing something that is practically guaranteed to get a visa rejection. There is next to no chance of her getting a TRV while being married to you. Your best option is to do an outland sponsorship. Get started on it and the year will go by.

But she is still a foreign national until you sponsor her and she is approved. As such, she is subject to immigration laws that apply to all foreign nationals. You being Canadian has nothing to do with it.

It's unfortunate that you didn't post earlier. We would have warned you not to buy a ticket and that chances of getting a TRV are low. CIC does tell people not to buy a ticket before they get a visa. Have you met numerous times in person? That is what will be important for your spousal sponsorship.

The first person to respond to me said "I assume you are Canadian", and I said yes that I am. That is nothing in relation to my wife's tourist visa..

We honestly didn't think that it would be that difficult to get a tourist visa. We thought wrong.. lol.

I am taking my third trip to see her next week. I can only afford to see her once every 6 months..
