Hello Friends,
I am a PR holder for over a year now and have been living in Canada for over 5 years now.
I had an arranged marriage in India where my mother introduced me to the girl, we talked to each other via Whatsapp calls and chats for over 5 months and we decided to get married once I go to India. This was me meeting her for the first time and we got married in the court the next week. We took photos and all for that ceremony with my close relatives and friends. We did the court marriage so that I can get a head start with the spousal pr application. We were thinking of doing a Hindu ritual wedding in October of next year hoping to get the PR by then.
I read a lot of threads on this forum and found that a Hindu wedding is needed in order to prove your marriage. Is it required for me to do so? If yes, is it okay if I visit her and perform the ceremony now? considering I have already legally performed the marriage?
Thanks
