concept of Bi-weekly pay for internationl students

Hi.. I'm international student working part time & get my salary bi-weekly. On my first week i work for 24 hours(3 shifts of 8 hours) and on second i work for 16 hours(2 shifts of 8 hours). In total i get pay for 40 hours for two weeks. Does this 24hours can create any problem because international students can work only 20 hours/week.

Yes - it's a problem. It's illegal and a violation of your study permit for you to work more than 20 hours per week. You cannot work more than 20 hours per week. Doing so jeopardizes your future in Canada.

Thanks for reply. But my company pays bi weekly so if I work 40 hours in two weeks, on average I worked 20 hours per week. Because I will get pay for two weeks in a payroll.

Technically it is not about your pay, it is about your hours. You are not supposed to do more than 20 hours in any given year week, not about the average. By being non compliant with your study permit, you take the risk of losing your student status in Canada.

Agreed. It's not about the pay - it's about the hours.

Again - the rules are EXTREMELY clear. You are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week. Anything more than that is illegal and jeopardizes your status in Canada.
