yes, that's exactly why I got confused:
bi-weekly: paid every two weeks = 26 payterms year
semi-monthly: paid twice a month (payterm1: day 1-15 /payterm 2: day 16 to 31) = 24 payterms per year
What confuses me: according to you for both options 60 hours are required?
What happens when you have 5 weeks in a month? I take it the extra week falls into that second pay period?
Regardless... You are looking at this the wong way. Lets assume you have 5 weeks in a month, but 2 pay periods = 2 weeks (PP1) + 3 weeks (PP2). So, you will need 60 hrs + 90 hrs. If its normal 2 + 2, then you need 60 + 60. CIC looks at the weekly balance and doesnt really care how your HR pays these out. As long you have 30 hrs per week, and work for 52 weeks, you are good.

I wish it was that easy. No. I always get paid 60 hours per payterm (day 1-15 / day 16-31), no matter how long the month.
and no, it does not fall into the second payterm then, even if the month has 5 weeks. my hours are kinda flexible. but my boss ensures it is at least 60 hours for a semi-monthly payterm.
So maybe the best way of looking at it is: by for each month I have 120 hours.

My final advice to you, cuz I'm running out of things to say ... lol ;D ... is that you put together all your pay slips and calculate your hours. If you are way over 52 weeks, say like 65 with maybe a week here and there with less than 30 hrs, then just go with it. If you always have 60 hours and are far over 52 weeks, let it go and just submit the thing.
Last resort, you add up all your hours and see. Thats it. I got nothin more... :-X 8)
