I am a tfw or contract worker for five yrs and i am under of common law to a canadian born and raised since dec 14 2010 legal from the govt and we have child last march 11 , 2012..
1. is my common law partner can sponsor me as an open work permit?
2. is theres any specific salary he need to obtain before he can sponsor me?
We are planning to get married also and i am actually engaged now but the big day we will do it next yr ...i was thinking about a common law sponsorship
2) There is income requirement for Permanent Residence sponsorship for a spouse, but there is no way for a Canadian to sponsor his wife (common-law or married) for an open work permit.
If he you apply for permanent residence sponsorship via family: common-law class (which will be easy for you since you have a child together), then once it's approved you can get a SIN card which will allow you to work anywhere you want in Canada, and you won't need a work permit anymore.
I should've mentioned if you pick Inland for the spouse PR, you can ask for the OWP. They grant it after Stage 1 approval, about 6-7 months if you mail it all together and pay the fees together.
Depending on your Visa Office in your country, it may or may not be faster.
