I attest that this statement is valid. RBC will allow you to open an account with TRV however, they will close it after 6 months if you can't provide PR documents. They may however, extend you account depending on the status of your PR application.
TD is not only more accomodating but they do allow TRVs to open account. They will however require you to declare your TIN or tax number from your home country.

I will use the joined credit card, mobile phone, proof of financial support, pics, phone logs, Statutory Declaration, letters from friends, communications from my work and building managment that we tried to decalre that but we couldn't and the CRA. I hope that would be sufficient.
Well, it's not "too" late to have a joint account. It won't be the major proof but it shows progress of your relationship later on with sharing finance.
BTW don't you want a joint bank account anyway with your partner here so you can do your own day to day banking?
