I am a Canadian citizen and I am sponsoring my common-law partner.
We have compiled almost everything for our application, but I have a question about the checklist IMM 1589.
As CIC advises to not submit police certificates with your application, do I check the initial box next to Police Certificates - as this piece of the application does apply, but we aren't submitting it at that time. Can anyone confirm? Similarly, as we are not submitting the medical exam upfront (as advised) should we leave the initial checkbox next Medical Examination blank?
For sections that don't apply but have a 'yes' or 'no' question within, is it appropriate to indicate 'no', but leave the initial check box blank and write N/A next to it? For example with the accompanying children portion. My partner and I don't have children, so we must answer 'no' but should we leave the first checkbox unchecked with N/A?
