common-law before marriage

My husband and I moved in on September 2016 and got married on December 2017. I’m wondering if we are considered common-law partners before marriage. Based on rules, after living together for 12 months, common-law partnership starts. Should we Just enter the marriage date in our PR application?

If you are submitting an application now, your relationship status would just be married.

Yes you were common-law before marriage, but that doesn't really matter. Since you are applying now, you have to put in your current status, which is married. That supersedes your common-law status.

If you weren't married right now, then you would say you are common-law partners, and you became common-law in Sep 2017. However, you are married, so that doesn't count any more.

No, you would fill that out if you were in a common-law relationship with or were married to someone else, not your current spouse.
