Hi Guys,
This forum has become my Bible for everything Canada. Thank you all.
I have a question regarding my profile.
I am commerce student who scored 50% in graduation. I'd like to study pg diploma for the sole purpose of getting a PR.
I was wondering what are the courses where I can secure my chance to get a job in NOC category.
Also do PG diploma courses like public relation, international business management from colleges like Niagara or Georgian help?
I got 7.5 in Ielts academic. That's the only silver lining.
Thank you for your reply.
I see I bad grades. I never took studies seriously.
However, I am trying to turn this around. And IELTS is a testimony to that.
A lot of students who fly to Canada for studies do it for the sole purpose to apply for PR eventually. That doesn't mean I have a hidden agenda.
I am looking for a solution to my dilemma.
I have 4-5 years of work exp if that helps.
I have a few options like a Research analytics certificate or HR management certificate from Georgian college?
Do you think that can help me land a job?
NOC A or NOC 0
Senior managers – financial, communications and other business services
Advertising, marketing and public relations managers
Corporate sales managers
Managers in customer and personal services, n.e.c.
Supervisors, general office and administrative support workers
Administrative officers
Retail sales supervisors
These are the areas that I am interested in. I work in an advertising agency in India as a senior copywriter and started my career in sales and marketing. What do you think?
I was wondering if I secure a job after exhausting a couple of months of my 12 months of PGWP, is there a chance that the employer will help me extend my work permit?
Because if get 1 year of Canadian work exp, I can apply for PR through the CEC program.
You are right. No one can predict the right outcome.
By the way, are you in Canada at the moment?
Just wanted to know the current job market for marketing, PR and advertising professionals?
yes
and i have no idea
Thank you for the help though.
