Seniors, Need your advice again, my friend would like to know if his current WP or his stay could get affected if he applies for BOWP (the validity is until Nov 2015)
He checked CIC website for applying WP and the result is to apply for IMM5710E (Application to extend or change the stay) with no provision for BOWP, I suggested him to apply for IMM5710 for BOWP. Am I right?
Your advice would be of immense help to him.... please suggest.
People have already explained this above but i would just repeat what they say :
1.Apply for BOWP, BOWP as no effect on PR application in any way. Write a good cover letter, people on this forum got BOWP who were in same situation.
2.If BOWP get rejected there is no issue with his PR. But, he has to wait.

I am kinda in the same situation...I wish someone can help me here.
I paid for my RPRF last week, and medical has been done in Sept 2014 (Status has been changed to Medical Results have been received).
Here is my problem..
My employer (My ex boyfriend's dad) does not feel comfortable me working at his company because my ex and I are not together anymore. I think I am in the stage to wait for PPR (Possibly not since I am from visitor visa exempt country, but never know). What happens if I get laid off because of the stupid reason (Sorry, I am kinda upset and frustrated... with this situation) while I am waiting for my PPR or COPR?
If I get laid off before I get PPR or COPR, is there a change that I don't get approved for PR? Also, what happens if I quit before I get PPR or COPR?

i was in a similar situation before 6 months. I quit from my job due to bad environment and after that I was apply for BOWP and I get a refusal due to my current WP doesn't expire to 4 months . I also wrote a cover letter and I explain my situation but still I get refusal . If he going to apply for BOWP most likely is he going to received a refusal BUT it is not going to affect his PR application . The only he is going to lose is 150$ like me. Tell to your friend to be patience and the PPR is going to come soon. I was waiting 6 months for PPR without a job but at the end I get it .

Assuming you applied under the CEC program, if you lose your job or quit, it does not matter at all, it does not affect your eligibility (not true under some of the other programs).
