Closed work permit and losing job

We had applied for wife Student permit while I was working. And after we received Student Visa I had applied for SOWP. The process took its time and we got the permits. We ensured to explain our situation in Letter of explanation.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, also I heard that it is difficult to get a student visa if we have long study gap, I have around 12 years gap, did you face such situation?

We also had a long gap but if it is continuation of study and you explain it in letter of explanation then is should not be a problem. I would request you to do a bit more research and get the advise from experts.

If you have applied for Express Entry and have received ITA and submitted your application - then you lose your job - you can apply for a BOWP. You should move over to the Express Entry section of the forum and discuss there.

I have almost same situation. I’m about to lose my job. And my PNP application 5 months to get PR.
What can I do to keep my process going !!

You will need to look at theprogram for that province. Some have allowed people to try and secure another job offer.

My province has always to check with IRCC first.. they won’t give you a good answer.
What you think if I applied for BOWP true my spouse. It can keep the process going !!

It depends. If your nomination is tied to your employer, then switching employers puts you at risk of having PR refused since you no longer meet the conditions of your nomination. In that case your new employer would need to be willing to support your nomination and submit paperwork to transfer the nomination to your new employer in order to be able to switch (without putting your PR application in jeopardy).

I hear ya. Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely stick around until I get my PR application gets approved since my nomination is tied to my employer.
