Reading the CIC website, it says that my sponsor (my wife) needs to send her application to the Mississauga office in Canada. For application forms, it says that "all other forms need to go to your local visa office" (I'm a UK citizen, so mine will be London). However, a few lines after that, it says that "new Family Class applications should be sent to the Mississauga Office in Canada".
So, I just want to get some clarity. Do I send my application and my wife's sponsorship forms all in one envelope to the Mississauga office, or do I need to send me application forms to the London office and my wife's sponsorship forms to Mississauga separately?
All forms get mailed together in the same envelope, either to
Sponsorship : ( Type of sponsorship*)
Case Processing Centre ─ Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga, Ontario
L5A 4N6
Which is for regular mail, or
Sponsorship: (type of sponsorship*)
Case Processing Centre – Mississauga
2 Robert Speck Parkway,
Suite 300
Mississauga, ON
L4Z 1H8
Which is for couriered mail (Fedex,UPS, etc).
A handy tip is to also include if your application is inland or outland, as Mississauga also handles inland applications. So in the first line of the address write
The ENTIRE application goes in ONE envelope to CIC- Mississauga. From Mississauga, the visa workers will assess the application for completeness (no missing forms, certificates, signatures, etc.) as well as thoroughly assess the sponsor to make sure they are eligible to sponsor their spouse. Once sponsorship has been approved (currently about 85 days from app received) they will then send the application to the appropriate visa office abroad, where the applicant and relationship will be assessed and eventually (hopefully) approved for PR.
Thank you both. These are both great bits of advice.
As a side question - what happens if my medical exam expires before my application gets approved? The CIC website says that most medicals are valid for a year, so I'm just wondering how this impacts on the processing times of the forms....
If CIC has not made a decision by the time your medical results expire they will either renew the medical (this is done without your knowledge) or if it is long after your medical expires they will ask you to do another one.

Oh ok, great, so provided I get my application off next week, like I plan to, I should be ok for processing times and medical exam validity, even if approval doesn't get confirmed until this time next year?
Yes. Do not worry about the medical expiring. As I say the CIC can extend it if needed, and your medical was completed recently so you have almost a full year. London average is 7-8 months so you should be fine assuming your application goes smoothly.
