I suspect you're misreading the meaning of registration as it is on the checklist. In Ontario, they issue a marriage certificate, which you will receive after it's registered with the province. Our officiant took care of that part for us, and mailed everything to ServiceOntario. For someone married in Ontario, they will want the marriage certificate.
No, officiants can't expedite your marriage certificate. You have to send your own request along with a "proof of urgency".

Above is not the complete list of emergency situations. But if you think your scenario is an emergency scenario, you need to send them a letter via fax. It is up to them to accept it.

yes, will do. I think for application you just need proof of registration (which can be a copy of application for registration) but i read that some officiants can help with the process of expedition.
I just read the link and it states that if ordered online then the marriage certificate is guaranteed within 5 business days... you can do this once it's registered which takes 6-8 weeks?

You can order it right away and then when the registration is complete it will be mailed out and will arrive within the 5 business days. So you don't have to wait 6-8 weeks just to order it. It's just that it won't arrive until that time is up.
Ah... and looking at this thread it actually takes longer than their 8 weeks? Or did you not opt for the 5 day premium?
These timings may decide whether we do outland or inland.... outland I can go back to england easily to work rather than diminishing my savings with technology waiting times.
A dear friend of mine had a civil ceremony at the Markhan civic center. It was a beautiful ceremony, much like going to a church/chapel.
They ensured they had invited some people to attend, and had someone take professional photos and they did photos at a park afterwards also...we had a small dinner After.
They then Applied for inland sponsorship and had no issues.
Like someone else here advised, it is a special day and a big deal so treat it as such...get a dress, a bouquet, have him wear something nice...I think it was extremely helpful for them to have people in attendance. They included a Letter explaining that they did not have a big wedding because they did not have a lot of extra money and rather invest that cash into a new home (which they did and showed proof of that also).

At the time we did it, the wait time was 10 weeks. But it is possible to request that it be expedited. We just didn't realize that when we did it. I don't know if they always honor those requests or not, but I've seen people on the forums here for whom that was successful.
I am planning to sponsor my bf under Inland category. My bf's WP is expiring in first week of March 2017.
We are going for civil wedding ceremony in Mississauga. Is there anyone with such experience ? We need to avoid any mistakes to expedite the marriage certificate process.
