Hey guys! I’m a July 2019 applicant and had my citizenship interview about 2 and a half weeks ago… the officer told me she put me in the queue for the oath ceremony… does anyone know how long it takes after the interview to get an oath invitation?

Oh, wow! Have you tried reaching out to your local MP? I emailed mine but they told me if I don’t have a date by Jan 1st, they’ll make an enquiry…

Interview went really well… It was 20 minutes long- and half of it was just small talk about pandemic and it’s impacts… the other half was just travel history questions and verifying travel documents! Hope that helps!

I am a June 2019 applicant. I was put in the queue in October and told if I didn’t get the oath invitation within a month to let them know. I did get it in two weeks. The email with all the info, like zoom link will arrive about a week before your oath.

I also printed out a copy of my travel history and address history and had it in front of me incase some information slipped my mind!

The officer asks to hold documents up to the webcam, based on the info in the application or the electronic passport scans that were sent in advance of the interview.

Thank you so much. I did my test and after 3 weeks i only recieved an email askin me to mail them my passport pages. Hopefully this would be my last step.

Why would they ask for passport pages when you already send those at the application time?

Most of the time they will require you to send your passport pages by mail again to verfy your documents to determine you can become a canadian citizen.

Hi all, I got interview request 4 months after my test.Do you know how is it and why may be requested even though they asked for passport copies separately?I am also wondering if I can have the online interview while I am outside the country,I didn't see anywhere mentioning about if we are outside the country for the interview unlike for the test or oath.

They want to verfy your documents. Asking about your travels and job. Mostly test your english. U have to be in canada for the online interview unless you emaik them and ask them if they are ok if you are outside of the country. Its a better impression for them knowing you are in canada.
