My guess, it really depends on an officer. Each and every of them uses a different approach. Some of the officers are faster than the others. Some may update the system right away, while others wait until the last AOR sent to the last applicant in their pile to click "In Process" button.
Obviously, some of them are busier or less mature.
But I agree with the statement, that the whole process is supposed to be more unified for everybody.
Hi guys! Long wait came to an end!
Application sent october 12

Please update the spreadsheet!
Well, in the last two weeks I really didn't check my info on the cic page because I wasn't expecting any news. When I checked it yesterday, I saw the following message: We started processing your application on December 4, 2017. So I don't have any idea how to access the ECAS. There is no further info on the website.
Hey guys just an update, so i got a call back from my MP. So the Sydney CIO sent a message to them, they’ve located my file and they haven’t opened it yet. So hopefully they finally understand it’s time to open it

Someone from October applicants got an invite to write the test..
Also I know someone who applied few months back from Mississauga but was sent for the exam to Scarborough office and when he asked why they told him they are so busy now after implementing the 3/5 rule that they are working 7 days a week and they start sending applicants to different offices in the GTA based on availability

I just don’t understand how they can move on to November applicants when there are still so many October applicants who haven’t received anything yet. ughhhh
