"In the past 4 years, were you present in a country, other than Canada, for a total of 183 days or more?" - this is what it says on the application form. and I'll definitely need a Police Clearance certificate unless the new forms drop this.
I was out of country for more then 183 days such that 150 days in one country and 40 days in other country. Do I need to provide police certificate from both countries?

You
do not have to provide police certificate from either countries. Because you were not out of country for more than 183 days in each country.
You are required to provide a police certificate for
each country, other than Canada, where you were present for
a total of 183 days or more during the four (4) years immediately before the date of your application.

should be a current one
I immigrated to Canada as PR on 30-Apr-2014 from India. Excluding all my vacation outside of Canada, i now have 3 years (>1095 days) stay in Canada.
Now, the question is on police clearance certificates (PCC), CIC needs a PCC for 4 years before the application date.
In my case, i am definitely outside of Canada before becoming a PR for 1 year.
Should i need to submit PCC from India now?
I already submitted PCC when i applied for PR.
Please throw me some insight on this?
*Considering 3 out of 5 rule is implemented
Thanks,
Deepika
why are you asking the same question in every thread ? Your question has nothing to do with the topic of this thread...

precisely ! Since this person asked this 100% off-topic question, and ppl wrongly complied, the thread is lost. C 6 IS AN URGENT MATTER. This person should not be replied to again.
Please, get back to the ON-TOPIC subject: C-6 EFFECTIVE DATE. The person who asked about PR status disrupted the thread. Plase IGNORE THEM. There are adequate forums for each topic. Thank you.
still no news on the date? one question, my wife will be qualified under the current rule next Friday (Oct. 6). I will be able to do it Nov. 7 because of some trips out of the country. Is it a better idea to apply separately or wait one more month to do it together? thanks.
For all those that are asking off-topic questions, have a look here before asking questions. It's a bit of a wiki that I'm starting.

And if you still have questions, don't post them in this thread but start a new one. The forum community will thank you!
Hello Guys! Any News...????
Just to compare how the last citizenship changes came into force, and what was the timeline CIC adopted it.

June 4, 2015 Canada Gazette: Order Fixing June 11, 2015 as the Day on which Certain Provisions of the Act Come into Force
http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p2/2015/2015-06-17/html/si-tr46-eng.php
Note that announcement is only 1 week prior to changes coming into force.

June 19, 2017: Bill C-6 Received Royal Assent (exactly 3 years after C-24 received royal assent)
3/5 rule expected to be implemented during fall of 2017
Watch for the dates on which Canada Gazette Part II publishes for the announcement of effective date.
I think it will be about a weeks or maximum 2 weeks' notice!

Oh NOOOOO! you are shattering some people's dream of 'beating the rush' and sending their C-24 application before C-6 gets started...
But honestly, like I had mentioned before, a few weeks won't make any difference, there's a good chance those applications submitted right before the start date will be stuck in the same mail room as those new C-6 applications for some time together, and may not even get out of the mailroom first, depending on who's carrying them out...
