Congrats to all, who received AOR.

I have big rookie question: What is ECAS?
I submitted my application on August 28th. I'm hoping for an AOR by Oct 7th.

Everyone keeps talking about their status on ECAS? I thought I was submitting a paper based application. So whats this status online.?

I didn't put my email in the application, but I checked my application on ECAS and I finally found it with the following status>

Citizenship

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 16, 2017.

Does this mean AOR? or for AOR I should see something different?

Yes, this is your AOR(Approve of Receipt).
Congratulation, you're in the pathway of the citizenship process.

I did also send my application almost a month before and still I can not see any details on ECAS and I haven't received my AOR too. I did try different options to check my status , but all is vain. When did you check your status first time do you have any idea?

ECAS is an Electronic Client Application Status (Online service through CIC where you can check your status)
This is the link to the site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp?s=3
You need your clientID, lastname, DOB and POB to check your application online. Nothing will appear until they open your file.
