Has anybody tried calling cic for an update?

They will check your case only if it is more than 12 months in process. Try your luck.

Hey folks - just got my oath invitation in the mail! letter is dated June 6th for oath on June 20th. Pretty surprised at the fast turnaround (was expecting to wait another 3 months tbh).

Congrats! Light at the end of the tunnel for us. When did you submit your CIT 0520? Was your ECAS updated?

Thanks! Got the CIT0520 mid Dec, sent in docs by mid Feb. Decision Made May 20th.

Gentlemen, It is frustrating to see how files are treated.

Can I give a humble suggestion? Your group here need to form a group(outside of this forum) and take leadership of your situation.

STEP 1:
Form a Yahoo group or something where you guys can share your personal information

STEP 2:
Someone has to put together a "short letter" about technical details(CIT 0520 sittting in back offices and gathering dust) and issues effecting the group. Finalize the format of letter in Yahoo group.

STEP 3:
Email Minister John McCullam and Prime Miniter that your group wants to meet the minister in Ottawa

STEP 4:
Go meet the minister. Potential invite some media. Luckily government is liberal and I am sure they will give an appointment to discuss. It is worth $600 airfare for members going through this CIT 0520 delay harassment.


I am sure per minister he is not aware how applications in this "special 0520 processing" suffer. One to one group meeting with minister will help assign more resources and shed light.

Just my thought process. Worth an effort for sure, rather than sitting and waiting. Doing nothing is just status quo. Need to form a personal group and take leadership. Even a small group of 5 people flying out to Ottawa will be enough to showcase. Got to do it.
