I have applied for SINP under NOC 2173 And waiting for ITA but I found that NoC 2173 requires license and it will be asked once ITA will be received. After reading this NOC licensing requirement it says that for “software engineers” license from APEGS is required where as “software designer” will require to provide CIPS.
I have 18 years of qualification with degree titles “Bachelor in software engineering” and “Masters in Computer Engineering” And also done ECA from WES as well. However, my professional experience is a mix of “software developer”, “software engineer” , “Senior Integration Engineer” and “software designer” but recent 12 years are of “software designer/architect” majorly.
so my question is either I need to go for license from APEGS or CIPS ?
Is it mandatory to keep the CIPS certification valid throughout the entire PR process? Will IRCC ask to show the valid CIPS certification during the process? My certification is due for renewal and bit confused whether to renew it or not. Appreciate your reply.
I got the reply from SINP that they do not process permanent residency applications and asked me to check with IRCC about this. Anyone who already got PR under SINP OID please clarify this. Do we need to submit the valid license to IRCC during the application process?

IRCC doesn’t need the license because you are not getting additional CRS points with it. It is a requirement for SINP so when you are nominated, it is part of the required documents to submit.

So I understand it like that no need to keep my license valid for the PR process. It is like valid ielts test result for the PNP nomination but no need to submit the valid ielts result (in the case of NOC A or 0) when you are sending the paper based application to IRCC.

There is no clear information about whether to keep it valid until Nomination or until COPR. But I remember reading somewhere, that IRCC evaluates if you have (or had) all the qualifications which were required to get the PNP nomination. If they find you did not have it even though you have been nominated, IRCC might refuse. It does not tell whether they look only at the time of Nomination process or at the time of PR process.
With that uncertainty , I have been renewing CIPS past 3 years as I'm still waiting on PR. I did not want to take any chance. This CIPS certificate is a total useless for outlanders.

Thank you very much for your reply. This is CIPS certification is very confusing. I dont know what to do in this situation. Every year we need to renew it and every 3 years we need to recertify which is very expensive for the outlanders.
I have a question since you mentioned that IRCC evaluates all the qualifications which were required to get the PNP nomination, they should evaluate the ielts also right? When we submit the paper application valid ielts is not mandatory if we nominated with NOC A/0. What about the case of valid IELTS in the case of eligibility check which also required for the PNP nomination. Any idea?

This is a very good thread on the licensing information.
I need your help in mapping my roles and responsibilities against my NOC 2173 Software engineers and designers.
The section B employment detail has 6 columns in a table.
1. For the Responsibilities part, yes give them details point by point. Try to cover everything that you have done in each job.
2. This was confusing for us as well. So we habe written almost 90 to 100% for each job. I haven't got any concern from them yet. So go ahead and mention even 100%. If they have any concern they will get back to you.
Subject: Got nominated, I did not know that CIPS should be done for NOC 2174, I immediately applied for it, will my application be rejected?
I got nominated for NOC 2174 and they requested me to submit additional documents which include the below mentioned paragraph, I applied this application by myself and I did not know that CIPS was required. I will immediately apply for CIPS, but my question is "will they reject my application this time or hold it till i process CIPS"?I got email on March 12th and they asked me to submit before March 21st 2021.

You need CIPS as it is explicitly stated in the required documents. It will be refused as they don‘t put files on hold because your application is incomplete.
