I applied CIPS license for NOC 2173 under education plus experience which would be assessed soon. Any idea how long it will take to issue license once it start assessed ?

Secondly, I already get SINP nomination last week, So I still need license as I was asked for license last year by SINP.

I have applied for CIPS license on 30 of Sep 2019. Got a reply from the CIPS team saying the processing would take 8 months to complete.

Is it recommended to apply EOI now? If I get SINP nomination, how long could they wait for the license document submission?

Please advise.

Hi everyone!
I try to find out what steps should I do to get CIPS certification for SINP but I have some questions. Could you please help me to apply for the license?

First of all, it is said that specialists with NOC 2173-2175 should receive AITP, I.S.P or ITCP membership.
All of them the demand Current CIPS Membership. Does it mean that I should get CIPS Membership and make a payment like it is shown here http://prntscr.com/pesi1z before applying for AITP, I.S.P or ITCP? I turn, it means that after that I should pay for AITP, I.S.P or ITCP membership as it is shown here http://prntscr.com/pesmyu and then send my application with all necessary documents.

Please, correct me if I am wrong or give me an instruction which you used before your successful application.

Hi Bharath,
Just now I submitted my EOI, I suggest you should submit the EOI and once you receive the NOI from saskatchewan province, you apply for CISP in parallel.

Donot waste money by applying in advace, for instance your investment would go in vain if you are not invited to apply.

for the complete process share your email, I will share the document i have

Regards,
Jagadeesh

Hi,

I am planning to apply CIPS ISP certification. I am bit confused, shall I opt for
a) Education + Experience
or
b) Established IT Professional route ?

Education -
I have Bachelors Degree (B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication), already assessed by WES.
It is equivalent to 4 years Canadian degree.

Experience -
I have 9 years of Software Development experience in IT company.

NOC - 2174

I will send an email to "[email protected]" to confirm which route would be applicable in my case.
However, If anyone has already applied with the similar education and experience, then please share your experience.
Dear Mabrol,

Could you please update the status of your application?
Have you received any response from the CIPS team?

It takes approx 8 months, considering WES course-by-course evaluation is also completed in time.

When you submit your document to CIPS.
CIPS will assign your file a tracking number and share that tracking number with you.
You will have to verify the status of your file on
http://www.cips.ca/CertificationStatus

I submitted all my documents in the 2nd week of march 2019. Now my file is still in the review queue around ~60th position. I hope by 4-Oct-2019 it will get processed. On an average they process around 45 to 60 files in a month.
What all documents did you attach apart from code of ethics certificate and employer reference?
can any manager of the company provide a reference letter?will 1 letter suffice? If we have worked in more than 1 company, how many refernce letters are required?only the latest one?
How may points will this certificate add to SINP and Express Entry Points?

as per mentioned in SINP website for 2173, if a candidate has engineering degree then should apply for APEGS. there are candidates who have applied for CIPS and SINP has asked for APEGS. Please confirm with SINP about what license is required for you.

One more question. I have completed my engineering in:-
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication
- Year of Completion: 2007
- in Job for last 10 years and 10 months, under NOC Code # 2173 (for 2007-2013), # 2282 (from 2013-2016) and again # 2173 (2016 to present).

QUESTIONS:-
1. I will have to get the CIPS accreditation, am I eligible to apply with EC being my engineering study? I ask this question as I don't see Electronics & Communication Engineering in the list of http://www.cips.ca/accredited , Please help confirm this.
2. If I am eligible, then, the steps for me would be:-
a. Upgrade the existing WES Scorecard from Document to Course-by-Course.
b. To do so, steps to be followed is:- https://www.apegs.ca/Portal/Sites-Management/FileDownload/DataDownload/32842/Instructions for Upgrading your ECA to an ICAP evaluation/pdf/1/1033
c. With the WES upgraded score, apply for the CIPS?
d. Should we send the WES score to both SASK and CIPS?

Please help me with the answers.

Regards,
Arya

Generally there is a licensure required for IT professionals, it can obtained from APEGS or CIPS. What did they invitation say? Did they ask you to submit the documents? If yes, what is the deadline to submit the documents and licensure. The licensure normally takes around 8 months

It says " If the full application, including the processing fee is not received within the next 60 days, your application will be closed. If your occupation requires licensure from a Saskatchewan regulator, the processing of your submitted application will be held until licensure is received, however, all other documentation must be submitted within 60 days"

So pls let me know how to proceed.

Congrats for the invite. Please go ahead and submit all the documents within 60 days and apply for your CIPS certification, if you haven't applied already. To get a CIPS certificate, determine the route first and pay all the fees like CIPS membership, CIPS application review fee, then make sure you have all the documents like education course by course from WES(in case of - Education and experience route), reference letter, proof of 1000 hrs of work and other documents. Please refer to other topics in this forum that talks about obtaining a CIPS certification.

Currently the processing time for certification is 8 months.

Good luck
