You will get the membership number once they certify you as a CIPS member. They will send the certificate by e-mail as well as by courier. So you will get a hard copy and an electronic copy.

So, once you get the membership, you can use the designation.

Need some guidance related to CINP. I chose NOC 2173. Just wanted to know how can I apply CINP. Do I need send them a mail. What is the time taken by CINP to complete.

I emailed to CIPS and now they are saying timeline to get certificate is 6 months.

As long you keep paying them, your membership will remain active.

But I sent an email to them at the 9th instant, and then they told me in reply.

I have the same question as yours....can u let me knw if u applied to CIPs?let me know ur experience?

I fall under category "EstablishedITProfessionals" and i confirmed with them as well.

I have no degree in I.T but working in the sector since last 6 years.

1) my question is i've downloaded the application but detail in the application is quite generic, can someone help me to fill the application or do any one has experience to fill it? I can surely put my knowledge and learning process during my professional experience however, look like they want some specific detail into it.

2) Do this certification add 50 points to my CRS under "Do you have a certificate of qualification from a Canadian province, territory or federal body" :

I didn't even print it. I signed on a paper, took a picture of it and placed the picture on the position it needs to be in the application doc and then I emailed them.

I applied in Oct 24, 2017, received confirmation from CIPS for docs received, But till now no email from CISP for certification.
even no money deducted from my Credit card.

The current review time is 4 to 6 months. So don’t worry. You can also email them to know about current status.
