CIC PR Thread [PNP -> Paper Based Application]

Please I need an urgent response.
I included my spouse when I applied for pnp. I got nominated and have applied to IRCC. I have also received the AOR.
My spouse wants to apply for an open work permit but I'm not sure if she should apply as a spouse of a skilled worker or as a provincial nominee certificate holder.

Since I have gotten AOR and she's my dependent, is she also a provincial nominee certificate holder?

Hi Chris,

If you have your bridging work permit, you can flag pole at the border with your spouse and pay for her to get an open work permit for the same length as yours. You should make sure that you take proof of your relationship with you. I went through the same thing but before I received AOR, and my common-law girlfriend got a 2 year open work permit at the same time that I got a 2 year closed work permit whilst we wait for PR.

Hi, I did my medical exam on March 07. On Friday (March 09) my status changed to "you do not need to do medical exam, we will send you a message if this change". Today I received an email from CIC, again they have sent me an medical application form like the first application to do medical exam. And my status has also changed to "we have requested a medical exam"!!! Any help!!

Was it an upfront medical examination?

I guess the system can't sort if it was or not and will send the form regardless, while it takes a few days to assess your medical if you sent it beforehand.

No, it was real on time medical test. I was requested to perform medical exam.

Hi all, me and my friend filed same day under AINP SRS PGW category, we got file number feb 20,2018...my friends status under background is: “we are processing your background checks. We will notify you if anything changes.” Is this any different than my status: “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.”

One thing i dont understand, some people say that you recieve medical one year from your aor date ( 13 july 2017 in my case) so i was hoping i would recieve my medical sometime in june 2018.

But now people are getting medical one year from the date of application.

Yup, they send MRs in batches.

In 2017, PNP applicants used to get MRs, after 14 months their application reached to CIC.

In 2018, Feb onwards (current trend) most of them getting MRs in 11-12 months after their application reached to CIC

Comparatively this year applicants are lucky. Processing times are streamlined.

Processing times are improved because CIC committed to reach PNP service standard time to 11-months.
