I submitted my sponsorship application for my parents in June 2011. Earlier last year, in 2015, I received a request from CIC to submit some additional paperwork (such updated income data, parent's immigration application etc.). I submitted my data shortly after and received a confirmation from CIC that my application was complete.
Issues: Whenever CIC Mississauga writes to me, they send all my correspondence to the wrong address. I have repeatedly ask them fix my address. My address has been updated online for many years now. I received a notification on my online CIC portal the other day that they have sent me a letter asking for some info. They have asked me to wait until I have the letter before I send them what they have asked me to send. I called CIC immediately after, as I assumed they had mailed the letter to the wrong address- which they had! So I spoke to agent on the phone and he said that they have asked for the original copy of IMM1344A.
The problem is that I had submitted the original IMM1334A in 2011. How can I reproduce the original when CIC has it! I called CIC again and they said that they lost the original! Now what do I do? Also, the agent told me that I have 3 months from the letter date to submit the requested document. The letter being sent to wrong address and a month long trip I have overseas in 5 weeks, I will barely have 2 weeks to submit the document they have asked me to submit.
What do I do now - Part 1?
- I have a photocopy of my original application submission. Can I just the photocopy of IMM1334A and sign on it again with the principal applicant and say this was originally signed on so and so date?
- I have a blank copy of the form IMM1344A from that year- shall I refill the form of that year and send it to CIC
- Download the latest CIC form IMM1344A and sign that and submit my application.
What do I do now - Part 2?
- Do I submit the correct form immediately?
- Do I submit the correct form when I receive the original letter? I might be very close to the deadline by that point in time.
