Changing DLI

Hi everybody,

I am an international student applying for a study permit. I have submitted my application on Sept. 30 for a Ph.D. program starting on Jan. 2022. After submitting my application, I have got a better admission for a Ph.D. program at another university. I have read rules on the IRCC website telling that changing DLI is possible using webform while we are out of Canada and the application is in progress. I have webformed my new letter of acceptance to them in late October while my application was in progress.

I have got no update or response from them till now. I wanted to know how I can be sure about my DLI? Whenever they issue my student VISA, is there any place showing my DLI? I want to make sure whether they have accepted my request or not before landing in Canada.

There's no place to know which DLI your SP is issued against, if/when issued. If the course duration differs between the DLI, then the expiry date on your counterfoil might give you a clue. Your only other choices are to call IRCC and ask an agent, or send another webform after approval to verify.

Yes, the only choice seems to be asking them. I hope they issue my VISA with the new admission.
