I want a different name on my new passport so should I change my name now and then inform CIC? I hear I can just change my name when applying for passport but on the application form, it said"For a legal change of name, you must provide a birth certificate or citizenship certificate issued in the new name.". In order to have the "citizenship certificate issued in the new name", I need to legally change my name first, right?
It may not be a good timing changing your name after DM before oath. I personally would change name after oath, and request a new citizenship certificate then apply passport.
